Meghe Dhaka Tara (2013) is an Bengali movie. Directed by Rabi Kinagi, produced by Red Chilli Entertainment and co-produced by Shree Ashtaposhini Movies and Purna Pictures. The movie stars Rajesh Sharma, Srabanti Chatterjee, Swastika Mukherjee and others.The story revolves around the life of a middle aged woman who experiences a series of unfortunate events in her life that force her into losing everything she holds dear to her heart. Years later she meets a man who gives hope to the poor lives of people like herself and inspires them to get their dignity back from the hands of greedy politicians and business cartels. The movie is a tribute to the late Mr. Mahabir Hossain who was a hero in the state of Bihar and worked relentlessly to get justice for the oppressed people of Bangladesh after his country was invaded by India.The film is inspired from the life of Mahabir Hossain who was awarded an honorary doctorate by Bradfield College, UK in recognition of his relentless efforts for social welfare. The lyrics are penned by Swatik Paul, Suman Biswas & Soumyadip Chattopadhyay. The audio got a middling response from viewers but got good reviews from critics. The film has three songs composed by Partho Dasgupta while Soundarya Dasgupta has scored two songs. The music of the film is inspired by the famous Western Bollywood movie "Devdas" (1955) and it is purely classical with lots of violin and violins.
